We are fortunate to have our own school kitchen, where Lisa, Sue and Eve cook fresh school meals every day. We follow the B&NES catering policy and provide a healthy, balanced and varied menu. There is always provision for vegetarians and we will endeavour to provide any special dietary requirements if requested. The current school menu is on display in the Kitchen window, in the hall on the Kitchen noticeboard and on this website (see below).
All Infant aged children now qualify for free school meals, and 90% of our pupils regularly enjoy a hot meal from our kitchens.
BUT IT IS STILL REALLY IMPORTANT TO REGISTER FOR ‘FREE SCHOOL MEALS’ IF YOUR FAMILY IS ELIGIBLE. Although all infant children now enjoy free lunches, if you register as eligible for Free School Meals we can provide additional support for your child’s learning, financial support with clubs etc. Please see the office or your child’s teacher if you think you might be eligible. Please also see the link below for BaNES guidance on applying, and a copy of the BaNES Registration Form.
Children having a packed lunch should not bring fizzy drinks, chocolate or sweets to school, are encouraged to bring fruit as part of their lunch, and to avoid bringing crisps.
Our uniform comprises red polo shirts and sweatshirts, with navy skirts or trousers. We hold stocks of polo shirts, sweatshirts, PE shirts, fleeces, book-bags and PE bags form you to buy in school. Navy trousers, skirts and PE shorts may be purchased from various high street stores.
Attendance / In-term Holidays
We strive to meet the national attendance targets and so we have a pro-active approach to absences. Parents must ring on the first day of the child’s absence, before 9.30am.
If you need to take your child out of school during term time, you should fill in a Planned Absence Request form available from the office. The absence will be only be authorised if it is in 'exceptional circumstances' and if the child’s attendance is good.
